An Impact Wrench (also known as Impactor, Impact Gun, Air Wrench, Air Gun, Torque Gun, Wind Gun) is a socket wrench power tool designed to provide high torque output with minimal user effort , storing energy in a rotating mass and then suddenly delivering it to the output shaft.

Compressed air is the most common source of energy, although electrical or hydraulic power is also used, with wireless electrical devices becoming increasingly popular since the mid-2000s.

Impact wrenches are widely used in many industries, such as auto repair, heavy equipment maintenance, product assembly, large construction projects and any other situation where high torque output is required. For product assembly, a wrist tool is commonly used as it provides a non-reactive grip while reducing the noise levels that regular impacts experience. Wrist tools use oil as a means to transfer kinetic energy from the hammer to the anvil. This provides a smoother thrust, a slightly lower torque to weight ratio and the possibility to design a shut-off mechanism that switches the tool off when the correct torque is reached. Pulse tools are not called “impact wrenches” as the performance and technology are not the same.

Impact wrenches are available in all standard socket wrench drive sizes, from ¼” drive tools for small assembly and disassembly, to 3½” drives and larger squares for main construction. Impact wrenches are one of the most commonly used air tools.

In operation, a rotating mass is accelerated by the motor, storing energy, and then suddenly connected to the output shaft (the anvil), creating a high-torque impact. The hammer mechanism is designed so that, after applying the impact, the hammer can rotate freely and does not get stuck. With this design, the only reaction force applied to the tool body is the motor that accelerates the hammer and therefore the operator feels very little torque even though a very high peak torque is applied to the socket. (This is similar to a conventional hammer, where the user applies a small, constant force to swing the hammer, which generates a very large thrust when the hammer hits an object.) The hammer design requires a certain minimum torque before the hammer. hammer is allowed to rotate separately from the anvil, causing the tool to stop hammering and instead smoothly move the fastener if only a low torque is required, quickly installing / removing the fastener.

Pneumatic tools, polyurethane pipes, impact wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, angle grinders, grinders, grinders, plate cutting shears, plate cutting rodent, plate cutting saws, riveters, connectors, recording pens are just a few of Shinano products, which is represented in Porto, Portugal by Tecnoar.
